Discription: Heritage Hotel The Hotel is located in a commanding position in the heart of Darjeeling, Windmere was originally a 19th century boarding house, built for bachelors and British & Scottish Tea Planters. It was converted into a hotel in 1939, just before the outbreak of World War second. The hotel consists of two sections, the first is " The Windamere" which is furnished in traditional colonial style. This wing includes a honeymoon cottage. "Little Windamere" on the other hand has all modern facililties and decor.
